Rhys started his interest with photography in 2005. His passion, craving for knowledge and the urge to learn all aspects of photography. He set about teaching himself the technique and art of photography. Learning from magazines, books and the Internet, he is completely self-taught.

With his love for the natural world and the diversity of the Welsh landscape which had already featured hugely as his inspiration for his work.​
